About the Instructors:

Arnold Narzo

Arnold Narzo was born in Manila in 1970 and raised in September. His martial arts journey began in 1993 when he became involved with Grandmaster Antonio "Tatang" Illustrisimo, the founder of Illustrisimo Eskrima, one of the Philippines' most respected traditional fighting systems.

After Tatang Illustrisimo's passing in 1997, Narzo continued his Arnis studies under Master Tony Diego, who had been appointed as the successor of the Illustrisimo Eskrima system. Narzo's dedication and skill led to his appointment as Tony Diego's assistant instructor in 2006, and by 2012, he had advanced to the position of chief instructor within the system.

Following Master Tony Diego's death in 2014, Narzo emerged as one of the primary Filipino-based instructors of the tradition. He currently travels internationally, teaching and preserving the Illustrisimo Eskrima system worldwide, helping to ensure that this important Filipino martial heritage continues to thrive for future generations.

Ryosuke Oshima

Ryosuke Oshima serves as the representative of the Fuji Arnis Club in Japan. His exploration of Filipino martial arts began in 2001, marking the start of a deep and ongoing commitment to these traditions.

Since 2004, Oshima has made regular trips to the Philippines to conduct research and training, developing a comprehensive understanding of not just the technical aspects of Filipino martial arts but also their rich historical and cultural contexts.

Currently, he maintains an active practice regimen focusing on multiple Filipino combat systems: Illustrisimo Eskrima (traditional Filipino swordsmanship), Corto Curvada Eskrima, Koutsi-ryu (knife fighting techniques), and Dirty Boxing. Oshima teaches these arts in both Shizuoka and Tokyo, serving as an important cultural bridge between Japanese and Filipino martial traditions.
