Introducing the second installment of a new series, featuring the invaluable video archives left by Aikido master Sadateru Arikawa.
Based on materials left behind by Arikawa, who inherited and evolved the essence of Aikido from Morihei Ueshiba, this series resonantly guides us through Arikawa's pursuit of Aikido's origins, entrusted entirely to Tozaki Enku Shuho.
Sadateru Arikawa, a master of Aikido, quietly supported the Aikikai organization behind the scenes. Renowned for his rigorous training methods, he was revered as a formidable practitioner, known as "Oni" (demon) in Japan and "Killer" overseas. In his later years, he was regarded as the last martial artist of his era due to his dignified presence. Despite personifying the essence of Aikido learned from his master, he shunned the limelight, revealing for the first time the true nature of this lesser-known adept. Using preserved voice recordings, photographs, and films, this series aims to elucidate Morihei Ueshiba's martial arts legacy.
