About Sogawa Kazuo: Born in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1948, Sogawa Kazuo began his martial arts journey under Yamashita Yoshie during elementary school. He established the Daito-ryu Shuukikai in 1965 and later succeeded as the second head of Daito-ryu Saigo-ha in 1971, teaching at the Shodokan in Kitakyushu. In September 1990, he founded the International Daito-ryu Aikibujutsu Federation, expanding his teachings throughout the Kanto region and beyond. Sogawa Sensei's dedication to preserving and transmitting the profound traditions of Daito-ryu continues to influence martial artists worldwide.
